My Heart Wide Open.

I look around for answers to questions unspoken.
In the silence your Voice is clear.
     “My Child, I see you.”
“Do you know me?”
My, Child I Know You.”
“Are you too busy to notice me?”
“Do you see the emptiness inside?”
The walls of pride start slowly fading
Yes, Child I have seen…
I wipe my tear stained face.
“My Child, when did you stop believing, my care for you?
When will you stop running from me?
I see the broken dream.”
I saw how hurt you were when you realized it wasn’t going to be.”
“You would not allow me to heal and comfort you.”
“You refused to let me fill the hallow space.
You have tried every single mask man has ever made.”
“You went through the motions just the same,
“Like a performer in a well written play,”
“I know it is what you wished and prayed for.”
“It isn’t what is best suited for you, or the life I designed for you.. “
"It would not have fixed everything."
It is time to let go, and trust me by faith.”
I don’t know how to let it go, it hurts too much.”
Give it To Me Child it is mine to carry.”

You are Still my song

By T.J. Ellis

May 21, 2011

You Are Still My Song

When all I can see is the all consuming darkness that engulfs me I will wait for your light to penetrate my soul.

When the tears won’t stop I will remember your Comfort still remains

When the questions go unanswered I will rest in your unfailing Love.

When purpose cannot be found, and sorrow abounds

I will fall into your arms, and wait for brighter days.

I will trust You to restore my smile again.

When I cannot hear you through the lies, I will seek you harder than before.

I will cling to the truth that does not change

You are the One who pursues me when I fall.

You have not forgotten me,

Or abandoned me to find the way

I will always find you by my side, when everyone is gone

You are still all You claim to be.

You are still My Hope and My Song.

In Your Eyes

“In Your Eyes”
By T.J. Ellis
October 2010 ©

In Your Eyes, I am forgiven.
In Your Eyes, I am complete.
In Your Eyes, I have already won!
In Your Eyes, I am loved.
In Your Eyes I’m accepted.
In Your Eyes the lies are gone.
In Your Eyes I am wearing a robe of white.
In Your Eyes, I am covered by The Blood so pure!
In Your Eyes, there is nothing I cannot endure
In your Eyes, my identity is secure!
In your Eyes I can see!
There is hope!
There is protection from danger.
In your Eyes I’m not a prisoner to anger!
 I am not a failure
How sweet it is for a moment, to see through your Eyes!

Lessons about Suffering Part One there will be more I think

By: T.J. Ellis

You are my Light

You are my Song

You are my Strength when all hope is gone

You are my Hiding Place

You are my Purser

You are The Lifter of My Head

You are The Protector of my soul.

You are Supreme above all things.

You are the Fulfiller of my Dreams

You are my Molder and my Potter

You are my Worthy Lamb!

You are my Strong and Tender Father

You are my Treasure Eternal

You are my Holy Savior

You are my cleansing

You are my Perfect Listener

You are my GOD!

So that is the songof my heart today...

Today I was reminded that God is God, and I'm not.  I know that isn't news, but sometimes I am guilty of not choosing to . walk in the reality of the victory I have in Christ!  I have recently thought a lot about human suffering and the purpose of it.  This morning I found some answers in Isa. 53.  I will never know nor will I upon this earth comprehend the complexity of suffering, but there are some answers I have found.
1.  Jesus suffered unjustly, and never even opened his mouth....  This is found in Isa. 53:7 http://www.biblegateway.com/ Note: All passages can be found on this website(Also Note I've chosen to use the NIV)
 He was oppressed and afflicted,

yet he did not open his mouth;

he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,

and as a sheep before her shearers is silent,

so he did not open his mouth." Isa. 53:7
Of course I''m not suggesting a healthy acknowledgement of suffering is unwarranted, nor am I saying  that we will be able to follow Jesus's example flawlessly either. Please also understand that if I'm preaching to anyone it is myself...   Jesus more than any of us had reason to complain, and he made another choice even as he endured the agony of the cross  He focused upward.
2.God's ways are higher than our ways and his thoughts are than ours.  Isa. 55:9 As the heavens are higher than the earth,

so are my ways higher than your ways

and my thoughts than your thoughts."
3. God has a purpose for suffering, and He always knows the big picture unlike us, He does not just look at immediate effects and instant outcomes, He has a long range view, an eternal perspective.  Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,[a] who[b] have been called according to his purpose.

4. Finally Jesus always knew God had a greater purpose for suffering.  I admit this is the concept I wrestle with the most, but I'm going to keep seeking and searching even though my limited mind does not fully understand and I'm not sure I was ever really meant to.  Isa. 53:10 "Yet it was the LORD's will to crush him and cause him to suffer,

and though the LORD makes  his life a guilt offering,

he will see his offspring and prolong his days,

and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand."

I have more I'm processing on this topic, but I will stop here for now..  Please let me know your thoughts, do you relate agree or have another take on the topic?  This is a new journey for me, one that is only just beginning

Loved Her Still By T.J. Ellis

What happened to that girl?
That girl who thought she could change the world
That girl who believed nothing was out of reach
That girl who saw the best in the worst
I wish I knew where she was
Where are the fire in her eyes and the song in her heart?
Where is that girl who believed?
Where did her passion go was it swallowed in apathy?
That girl must have lost her way.
That girl pretended that all was just as it had always been.
The change was not instant it happened over time
Nothing would ever be the same again
She could not go back and undo what she did.
Her mind never let her forget.
She lived in a world of silent flashbacks.
If they knew her thoughts, they would disown her for sure
After all she wasn't pure.
They did not see the layers of anger and shame.
They thought she was smart, but she knew the truth.
She was not smart, but what she lacked in intelligence, she replaced with effort
One day she came off the pedestal, and fell to her knees.
It was there lonely and broken she found her King
She could hardly breathe.
She expected to be cast out of His sight.
She had failed her task
Instead He stood before her with love in His eyes.
His Arms open wide.
All her life she had wanted a love like this
No matter how stupid she thought she was, or how inferior she felt.
He loved her still!

How Amazing!

How Amazing
By: T.J. Ellis

How amazing that the Eternal One came in human flesh
He made the stars and the heavens in all of its glory.
He gave life by his Holy Breath!
None compare with The Everlasting God above
He is Powerful and Mighty
He is righteous and true
He is Love.
He came to forgive me and you.
He is Pure
He is Light
He is the star, shining brightly in the night.
He came in the flesh as a baby, such a glorious gift for all of mankind.
What an awesome sight that must have been.
The Savior arrived for humanity to witness.
The angels announced the Savior’s coming upon the earth.
The Shepherds marveled with wonder at their words.
Peace itself rests in Mary’s arms.
The hope of sinners has come!
History was made as that baby grew into a man, and died upon a cross to save.
Rising from the grave,
The chains of bondage have fallen away.
All because Jesus came with love so great!

More than a book!

It is Not Just a Book
By: T.J. Ellis
September 1, 2008

It is more than book of fairytales or fables.
It is more than just a bestseller upon a bookstore shelf
It’s not just historical record or point of debate
It’s not a mere legend, as many might say.
It’s not just another book full of opinions written by noble people.
It is the Word of Life!
It is divine it is flawless.
It will stand the test time!
It provides hope to the weary soul.
Only these words can refresh hearts grown cold.
It does not sway with the way the wind blows.
It brings rebuke to the wicked, and comfort to mourners.
It contains the Good News!
It crosses racial barriers and political views.
No other book has such saving power.
Never have there been such words of hope in such a dark hour!

Yes, there is still a writer inside me

I Saw Your Love
By: T.J. Ellis
September 27, 2009

I saw your love today as the wind blew across my face.
I heard your love in the melody that came as a soft whisper.
I touched your love as I witnessed the smile on a child’s face.
I saw your love through the beautiful sunshine.
I heard your love through the advice of a stranger.
I touched your love as I touched your creation.
I saw your love in the stroke of a paint brush.
I heard your love in the stillness of night.
I touched your love as I smelled the roses.
I heard your love in the form of laughter so sweet
I touched your love through the touch of human flesh.
I saw your love printed as a declaration, in words of red.
I heard your love through the singing of birds.
I touched your love, as I held a tiny sliver cross.
I saw your love through the kindness of a young man.
I heard your love through a simple prayer.
I touched your love as I touched the edge of grace!

I Must! Thanksgiving Part II

Please ask permission if you wish to use this in part or in whole. Thank you!

I Must
T.J. Ellis
November 27, 2008

I must tell of your marvelous beauty
I must sing of your greatness
I must praise your awesome name!
I must proclaim how wonderful you are!
I must declare that You are eternal
I must be a reflection of your mercy,
I must be a reminder of your grace
Your melody is stirring inside of me!
Your glory is so wide,
Your wisdom so high!
You have always been and you forever will be!
I must not remain silent about what an amazing Savior you are!
How can I express something I can never comprehend?
I must shout to the world I would give up without you!
It’s only because of you that I’m still here.
You have revived me so many times.
You have held me while I cried.
You have healed my scars
You have delivered me from the darkness within my heart
You have broken the chains of my self hatred and pride.
You have spared the one I love.
I must tell everyone I know
That you died on a cross
Now you are alive!
I must show them why you came
I must announce your wonders and love today!
