Spiritual Boredom? Part I

Image
Can I make a confession?  Of course I can who's going to stop me?  I was not one of those kids that was bored ever.  I always found ways to entertain myself or keep myself busy.  Until recently I never had to talk myself into reading my bible or praying, because as a teenager, I was so lonely that it was my loneliness that drove me to God.  Lately however I find that I'm in a spiritual state of boredom.   The problem of course is me for we know the Christian life is anything but boring, and even more we know we serve an amazing Holy God!  He can never be fully described, and his greatness t be fathomed.    So have you ever faced spiritual boredom?  How did you cure it?
Restore the joy of Your salvation to me,
and give me a willing spirit
Ps. 51:12 Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. 5 Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first."
Rev. 2:4
Part 2 later..

Thank you for this wonderfully honest post. Satan can really use our "Christian Boredom" to his advantage. Asking God for help and picking up a Christian book always gets me motivated again!

Great post! So honest and what you wrote about is very normal. You will get motivated again and even stronger than before! Sometimes we need to find some new motivational tools, such as bookes, cd's, etc. Give those a try & I bet your 'spark' will return!!

Hang in there!
Blessings & Hugs,

I always love your sweet heart! I imagine at some time, we have all been there, TJ. We just have to keep crying out and anticipate what great things God has in store for us!

I think we all experience boredom at times T.J. God understands.

I guess I kind of feel like spiritual boredom is natural. There can't be peaks without valleys, right?
It's the moments of "boredom" that make the sweet blissful peaks so fantabulous.
Thanks for your honesty and I'm glad to read (on FB) that you're recovering well!
